Happy Labour Day!
Today’s Music Monday post is about another one of my favourite bands: All Time Low.
I’ve loved All Time Low for the past 6 years. I started listening to them in grade 11/12 and since then, they’ve become a staple for pretty much all of my playlists/mixed CDs.
This is currently the background on my laptop: Jack, Alex, Rian, and Zack.
One of the first All Time Low songs I ever heard was Six Feet Under the Stars. To this day, it remains one of my most favourite songs ever (along with Reckless, which I talked about last week). The first time I heard it live – the Believers Never Die Part Deux Tour in May 2009, I believe I lost my mind. I remember Ro (who, at the time, didn’t listen to ATL) giving me a raised eyebrow look when I turned to her during the chorus and screamed “THERE’S ROOM FOR TWOOOO, SIX FEET UNDER THE STARS!”
This video came out in 2007 – they look so young!
Their most recent album, Don’t Panic, is easily in my top 5 favourite albums of all time. People often disregard ATL because they see them as Blink-182 ripoffs (these people are usually in their mid to late thirties, and seem to have general disdain for any pop punk band that came onto the scene post-2005), but they are one of the most entertaining live bands I’ve seen. It doesn’t hurt that they’re all really pretty too…(though in my defense, I liked the music before I liked Alex Gaskarth’s face!)
